FROM DAILY ENERGY TO DAIRY PRODUCTS: THE CAPTIVE CATTLE BREEDING ASPECT IN BIO-GAS INDUSTRY

Cattle breeding in India has largely been confined to rural sector and not been able to attract much attention to corporates. In most instances, this business has been closely confined to a group of individuals living in a same village. However, considering the potential of cattle dung for bio-gas production, enterpreneurs planning to set up large scale bio-gas plants may consider captive cattle breeding. Captive cattle breeding using modern technology will not only ensure adequate supply of bio-gas raw material for the plant, additional profits can be generated either through (i) selling the cattle milk; or (ii) utilising the milk for another rural dairy product plant. Here is the link to an experiment conducted by one of India's premier institutes IIT Delhi

Hope that bio-gas enterpreneurs and green engineers will be able to dig deeper into the techno-commercials aspects of this presentation and stand benefitted immensely. Besides, this will also result into increased number of rural employments.
